INDEMNIFICATION OF SUPPLEMENTARY HOURS and

EUROPEAN COMPLAINTS: THE SNOP GOES AHEAD!

By October 30th, the French government has to justify, its way of payment of Supplementary Hours applied to police officers.

With a letter dated September 14th, 2009, the European Committee of Social Rights, that the CESP seized on the SNOP’s behalf (Syndicat National des Officiers de Police), responds to Complaint n° 57/2009 :

- Declaring it admissible;

- Asking a series of precise questions to the French government;

- Inviting the French government to answer by October 30th.

This Complaint relates to the conditions for the indemnification of overtime works made by the police officers. It was lodged in May 2009 following the victory already gained before the European Committee of Social Rights which, at the end of 2007, had recognised the illegality of the indemnity process.
