Police Demonstration in Berlin



On 14th December 2002, a demonstration which gathered 40 000 people from the public service and coming from all the Germany took place in the streets of Berlin. Its theme was the lengthening of the duration of work and the modification for policemen of the age of departure to retirement, postponed to the age of 62 perhaps 65 years.

The Executive Bureau of the CESP was represented by the Treasurer, Johannes IMMEL and two Secretary General Deputies, Giorgio De BIASI (Italy) and Christian VAN MECHELEN (Belgium).

An important delegation of police officers affiliated to the Bund Deutscher Kriminalbeamter (BDK) was present and supported by five delegations of countries members of the European Council of Police Trade Union from which Belgium, Italy, Lithuania (22 persons), Slovenia and the Czech Republic.
