Last 14 June 2003 in Paris, the National Police Trade union (SNOP) organised the "Day of the police officer" at the Cirque d’Hiver.
At the end of the meeting, the 2500 officers present formed a procession in the streets of Paris until the Place of Châtelet to claim the continuation of the statutory revalorization of the body of the Senior police officers.
The European Council of Police Trade Unions came to support the protest action of the French police officers in the presence of its President Rafael GASSO (Spain), of its Secretary-general Gerard GRENERON (France), of one Deputy General Secretary Christian VAN MECHELEN (Belgium) and delegations of the Autonomous Trade union of the Italian Police force (SAP), Autonomous Trade union of the Belgian Police force (SAPB) and Trade association of the Spanish Police force.
