CONFERENCE IN SOFIA, 22nd – 25th of June 2006
According to decision on Executive Committee meeting in Leipzig, NPS organized special conference about the problems of positions of Police Trade Unions in Europe and especially about the case of our college Klaus Jansen and the position of NPS in Bulgaria. The day before official start of conference the president of CESP Branko Prah hold a meeting with Bulgarian minister of interior and they talked about the current questions in relation to NPS and Mr. Klaus Jansen. Bulgarian minister accepted the invitation of Mr. Prah to attend the conference in Sofia and so he spoke in front of all participants on 23rd of June. He focused on activities of Bulgaria in the process of integration to European Union, about relations with NPS and about the case of Mr. Jansen. After that he answered some questions of the participants.
Booth sides found out that this common meeting has to be start of new dialogue between Ministry and NPS and start of better cooperation. After that the participants confirmed the Declaration about Bulgarian integration to EU and Mr. Prah gave it to the high representative of European commission in Sofia.
During the official part of the conference participant exchanged experiences and facts about position and system of work in Police trade Unions in different countries. CESP will continue monitoring the development of activities in Bulgaria in relation to Mr. Jansen and NPS.
