The European Social Charter guarantees social and economic human rights. It was adopted in 1961 and revised in 1996. The European Committee of Social Rights (ECSR) is the body responsible for monitoring compliance in the states party to the Charter. http://www.coe.int/T/E/Human%5FRights/Esc/
The European Committee of Social Rights renewed the capacity of the European Council of Police Trade Unions for the period 2006-2010.
To be entitled allows the CESP of lodging the European Committee of Social Rights with appeals putting forward violations of the Charter by the signatory States.
