PRESIDENT OF CESP VISITED BELGRADE, SERBIA
SERBIAN UNION – NEW MEMBER SOON?

On 16th and 17th January 2007 the president of CESP, BRANKO PRAH, visited Belgrade, Serbia. He was invited to observe the demonstrations, organized by new Independent Police trade union of Serbia and participate some meetings with union representatives and members. Members of Serbian Union prepared open demonstration in center of Belgrade, in front of governmental buildings, to express their anger because of bad working conditions, bad salary policy and obstructions of union work in some parts of police in Serbia. During the visit the President hold some meetings with new leadership of Serbian police union and main topic of those was joining of Independent Police trade union of Serbia to CESP. Leaders of above mentioned Union expressed clear vision and wish to join and enter to CESP as a fully members and to take part at Executive Committee meeting in Rimini, Italy as observers. The Serbian colleagues expressed the same wish an attend during the first visit of Branko Prah in Belgrade in July 2006 and now they confirmed that with the letter, which was sent recently to CESP office in Lyon, expressing the same wish. The Independent Police trade union of Serbia has currently 6000 members.
